Fall retreat has come and gone.....

But we all had a blast!  We enjoyed great fellowship, wonderful food (Louise we need recipes), lots of sewing, cutting, some ripping (mostly me I think), and laughing....a lot of laughing.    And awesome door prizes.    Woohoo.

Thanks ladies for tolerating all my coughing.   Hopefully I will be well for the next one.   ;-)

I admired everyone's quilts but for some reason I only took a few pictures.  Here they are.

Wynema's Halloween Stained Glass.  (Sorry this is a little blurry)

Barbara's Crazy Nine Patch and Row Along

This is Peggy's also. I can't remember the name. But it is beautiful.

If anyone else has photos please post them.

This is my progress on aiming for accuracy.   Excuse the old flannel design wall. Lol it is pitiful isn't it.

Thanks again to Louise and Peggy for all you do.

Retreat Time - Yea!

Tomorrow afternoon Peggy & I will go set up for the retreat.  Almost everything I'm taking is loaded in the pickup.  This will be our largest retreat - 30 planning to attend.  I think that's the maximum number of quilters I can manage! We will play a new game that I hope will be fun and won't interfere with our play/work.  It's called "Spooling Around" and I modified it a bit to fit our needs a little better.  We will do the "Guess the number of Strips" contest on Friday and will award the winner Friday evening. Last year's winner won 277 strips!  That's almost 7 Jelly Rolls!  The real fun will begin Friday when everyone has arrived at the retreat.  I hope my "Friendship Star" blocks are not too gaudy - I was trying to take advantage of the opportunity to use some of my "not tiny" scale fabrics.  I hope this new facility will prove to be an ideal location for our
retreats.
I'm shooting some "prayer arrows" for Angela's quick recovery so she will be well enough to join us Friday.

This is my September clue for the Back to Square One Mystery Medallion.  We had to put a border on the top and make 24 log cabin blocks. It measures 64.5 right now so it will be a nice size. Except for the Square-in-a-square blocks (which gave me a little trouble for some reason), I have really enjoyed making this.

Retreat begins at 7:30 am on Friday

Can you believe it's almost here.   I'm excited to go to a new place. But am I prepared......not exactly. I do have my list made so throwing things in the car won't take long on Thursday night.

I just hope I am well enough to go.  I have sinus/cold/allergy junk again.    Prayers appreciated...

See y'all soon.

Just 10 more days

Can you believe it is almost here.  I'm so excited for retreat and having it in a new location will be fun.  I hope everyone is getting ready and starting to pack. I have put a few things together.

I just have to decide what I am taking to work on.  Maybe Merry Go Round will get finished this time.  And Friendship Star will get finished too.

I am going to attempt a new design that I have in the works.  I want to make banners (2) for the church that match the stained glass.  If I can just get it figured out.  Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I'm sure I can get lots of help from everyone at retreat.

See y'all soon.

Friendship Star Blocks

I have managed to get 7 completed blocks and have the other 13 cut and ready to go. Maybe I can get them completed at quilting tomorrow night.  That's the plan anyway.

I leave for Indiana on Thursday after work. I will go to moms switch cars and head to my daughters in Bryant for the night. Then hopefully an early start in Friday morning and about 11 hours of driving.   My big brother is getting married to a great lady, Gayle, in Saturday.  I am excited to see my nieces and nephews.  My sister and niece are coming from TN. So I will get to see them too. Yay.

So it will be a no sewing for the weekend for me.   And it is just 25 days till retreat.  I'm so ready to see all the ladies and have good fun and fellowship with everyone.   And of course Louise's wonderful food.
