Haley's quilt

This girl is doing a wonderful job. She is completing new projects every week.

It is great to see younger girl be involved.

A4A block 1

Finally started sewing on this project. I like this block.

Tuesday

Are you all ready for quilting tonight. I sure am. I have sewn anything in two weeks. Well I have played in the quilting machine. Progress but I still keep breaking thread. Any suggestions?

Back to Square One: July

Got the July clue done a few weeks ago. I like how this quilt is turning out but I am not fond of sewing with 1.25" pieces! Some of them look a little wonky but will probably look fine once I get them sewn together.

My Saturday.

I went to see my chiropractor in Hot Springs yesterday and then to visit the Hickory Hill Quilt Shop, I enjoyed looking around and visiting with Melissa.    There shop is a little out of the way but the have some lovely fabrics. If you get a chance to visit them do.  In the meantime here is a link to the website.

Afterwards I drove back thru Glenwood to see my boy..they have recently moved and it was my first chance to go. We had such a nice time visiting, taking care of his horses and dogs.  They live on a big farm, at one time it was a training facility for race horses. It is beautiful there.  A great place for a country boy to live.   I didn't get to see my daughter-in-love but I did get to play with Molly, the grand pup.

Today, after church I have to get some sewing done. I haven't done anything in over a week.  I am so far behind.  I hope to put something on the quilt frame and play.   Wish me luck....

Have a blessed day. And go sew something......

Repair time

Well the new machines need to go to the repair shop for tune ups. Then we will be in business.  The KenQuilt is unthreading the needle and having trouble picking up the bobbin. The precision needs a new motor and foot pedal and the pfaff. Needs a belt and who knows what else.   But still they were good buys.

FUN DAY AT HOT SPRINGS QUILT SHOW

Four of us Pickles went together to the Hot Springs Quilt Show on Saturday.   So many beautiful quilts were on display.  Hopefully I will remember that I need to think out of the box more often when it comes to borders.   It was an inspiring show to say the least.   We ran into a couple of other Pickles there.   Then we went to lunch (really good Mexican Food!) followed by a shopping trip to Hobby Lobby, Hancocks, and The Rocking Chair - all with fabric in mind of course.  We got side-tracked at the Dairyette in Mount Ida where I enjoyed one of the best Hot Fudge Malts ever!  All in all it was a fun filled day.   My only disappointment was that there were only a few miniature quilts displayed at the show.

I'm still hand quilting on my Hunter's Star and have it all quilted except the borders.

Our fall retreat is less than 12 weeks away!   My Friendship Star blocks are ready to exchange with the others who signed up to participate in the exchange.  I'm looking forward to trying out the Trinity Wilderness Retreat facility to see how it works for our retreats.  Meal plans are underway and one of our Pickles has volunteered to make cinnamon rolls for Saturday morning!   My closet is already filling up with door prizes.

Don't forget about the "Guess the number of strips" contest we will have at the Sept. retreat.   If you want to participate, bring a minimum of 5 strips cut 2 1/2" X WOF in Christmas fabrics or traditional Christmas colors.   Everyone who brings strips will have a chance to guess the total number and winner takes all!

Well it's mine

Now to get a new belt and get to quilting.

New to me quilting machine

Today  DH and I went to look at are older KenQuilt machine. It came home with us and the 12' frame. Bobbin winder. A full roll of poly batting.  A pfaff sewing machine and a wizard precision machine.  And a folding table.  Also two barstools.

It's Tuesday.

You know what that means.   We get to meet for quilting tonight.  Yeah!  I've got to get started on the Aiming for Accuracy quilt along tonight.   And get my RSC13 July blocks done.

Dang

Don't you hate when you lay out blocks and forget you were going to sew them into rows so it would be easier to sew the columns.  Now that I have three rows sewn into sets of two I have to lay it all out again.  Bummer.

Oh well at least I am getting to sew.  Right.

KenQuilt

Is anyone out there familiar with Kenquilt and the 12' frame, table, and bobbin winder?  I have an opportunity to purchase one cheap. Just trying to find out if it is worth it.  The manufacture is out of business and I can find pictures of machines but nothing in the frame.  The later year models have the hinterberg frames.  Not sure what this one has.

Thanks for you info.
