I need some blogger help

I had a noreply-comment blog email that I think is junk.  Stating it wanted to grab our RSS feed... So I know I do not want that but can't figure out how to block or stop it.  I don't find anything strange but I am so new to this blogging thing.

All help is appreciated...

Merry Christmas

Baby Bricks Update

All 11 stacks are sewn and put together with the vertical sashing strips.  Now I just need to cut the borders and get them sewn in place and my "Stacked Baby Bricks" quilt top will be complete.   But....it will have to wait until we return from Christmas with family.   As usual I'll make more YoYo's while we are on the road.  I still have hope that someday I'll actually have a yoyo quilt.  I've been making YoYo's on and off for 3 years and only have to make somewhere around 200 - 300 more and I'll have enough.  Then "all I have to do" is sew them all together!   I even have 1 row of "blocks" sewn together - did that so I could see what it would look like.

Time is slipping away..

Where has the time gone......I haven't posted much lately or even accomplished much.  I am on week three or is it four of sinus infection and on a second round of shots and medications.  I have not even sewn anything in two weeks...  I normally sew something everyday.

I hope you have all been able to get your projects finished or almost finished in time for Christmas.  I am way behind.    Hopefully I will feel better soon.  Tomorrow starts my long vacation.. I will be able to spend time with family from Indiana. I hate we only get to see each other once a year.    Maybe I will get caught up on my sewing and on Easy Street.  I still have Step 4 to start and Step 5 comes out in the morning...

Merry Christmas and happy sewing.

Stacked Baby Bricks

Here goes...I'm a newbie to blogging.  Angela has been kind (and patient) enough to help me get started. Yesterday afternoon I sewed 360 baby bricks into pairs of 2.  Took me 3 hours but then it only took 30 minutes more to sew 20 pair into a stack of 40 bricks.   I already had 2 stacks made and will need a total of 11 for my quilt..  The pic shows a completed Stacked "Big Bricks" along side a single stack of "Baby Bricks".  This is one of the optional projects the Pickle Patch Quilters will be working on at our Spring 2013 retreat.  The Big Bricks only contain 24 bricks per stack but I want my "Baby Bricks" quilt to be longer.

Easy Street Step 4

Oh my goodness, 4:30 pm can't get here fast enough.   I am so ready to work on this some more.  Here is the link to Bonnie's page.

I must read instruction more closely.

At quilting last night we were discussing the Easy Street Mystery, I have all of Steps 1 and 2 ready (except cutting off dogears) but I completely skipped over the section of Step 2 that said to cut 64 rectangles.. So I will be doing that before church tonight. I guess I just got in such a hurry and was too full of excitement that I was caught up and waiting for the next Step. Hmmm maybe I better go back and read some more, lol. Just in case I missed something else..

Angela. Linking with Quiltville

I just realized that in all of my excitement of actually starting the new Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street Mystery I failed to post the link to get back to her site..... So here it is.

This is going to be so much fun.  At least four of our group are participating and I have only seen one duplicate fabric...

It's off to work for me.

Next project

My next project to complete is the binding on the wall hanging for the grandson. I am going to machine sew it via Pat Sloan instructions. If it doesn't work out it is okay, this is just a panel that I practiced machine quilting on.. Boy does it look rough. But I was learning.

And the niece's quilt is finished. Yay!

Finished the binding tonight. Boxed it up and forgot to take a picture of it finished. Will do that tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

My progress

Well I just did a mental inventory of what I have accomplished so far this year.  So here goes.

Completed
Six star quilts from shirts

Binding to go
A nine patch for a niece.. I have binding attached, ready for hand sewing.
Wall hanging for grandson...still to have binding added

Tops completed
Red heaven for a niece
Bright scrappy heaven for ?????  I haven't decided yet.

Tops in progress
Two tops made from Serendipity
Merry go round

Material
Neutrals for a brother.. I have 2.5 strips but I am not sure what design I will use.  I may just do a variation for a 1600 jelly roll.

Fortunately or maybe it is unfortunately I have to go to work.  Not on quilting but to that place that pays for quilting...  I'd rather be sewing....

Happy sewing and God bless

Look at the name tags Louise and Barbara for each of us.

October Retreat 2012

Well another retreat has come and gone.  The time we spend with all of these ladies is so cherished.  Each of you are true friends, thank you for all your prayers and thought during a difficult time of waiting.  I was not able to be there for the whole thing due to work and family obligations.  I will upload pictures soon and I hope others will also.

Bargains. Aren't they great!

I took our grandson back home yesterday and we went shopping at Hancocks, I was in search of batting to finish up these quilts.   I intended on getting three king size ($120.00) and that would do all the tops but they did not have any.  So I looked around and they had a bolt of by the yard, warm and natural.  It was 40 percent off.  I ask about the price for the whole thing with the 50 percent off that starts in a day or so and since I live three hours from their store could I get that if I bought the whole thing... Well I came home with a bolt of 20 yards for $113.00.

And I found out yesterday I won a charm pack from Betty Lou at American Vintage  Quilts.    Thanks again Betty Lou.

Maybe I should have bought a lottery ticket....LOL

Happy sewing and have a blessed week.

Making slow progress..

Last night I was able to get the backs for all six completed.  I also "played" with the Robert Flynn multi-frame system that was a gift from a friend.  It is in need of a piece of dowel to hold one of the bars on but I think it might work.  Going to give it a try sometime this weekend.  Our grandson is coming so it might not happen until he goes back home.

Have a great weekend and happy sewing.

One top complete.

Finally I have one completed. Tomorrow the others will have the final border and I can get the backs made. I am ready to get to the machine quilting.

Then for the label and the special hearts.....

I think I might see an end to these quilts.

Holiday weekend

Well I spent a lazy day yesterday doing some chores and loading the new kitty my hubby brought home.  She is a little bitty thing.  My Yorkies are getting use to her, but the big dog outside tried to gentle take her from the hubby he was testing to see if she was bite size or not.  So until she is bigger and can't go through the 2inch fencing she will be inside.. Or she might be a snack.

Today I must sew after church that is.  I have borders cut and they must be attached by the end of the day.  That is my goal anyway.  I hope I attain it.

Happy sewing and God Bless.

Progress Progress. Progress

I have three of the six ready for borders, sashing to cut to get two more ready ( I miss calculated just a little.. Needed to cut up sashing I set aside for #6). I will have these two ready today and the to design #6, I ran out of background fabric since this was a late addition to the order and of course it is not available anywhere...  :(      Therefore; a new design, I already have all the shirts cut up and leftover background cut up I just have to make a few changes in order for it to work and be as close to the same as the other five as possible.

I am hoping to get borders put on this week. I need to get these guys quilted and delivered.  ASAP.

Are you making progress on your projects this weekend?

Happy sewing,
Angela
