Storms

We have had our share of storms today.    Some estimate almost 7 inches. There were four tornados that touched down, many homes and property damaged, two water rescues with success, roads are   flooding.

Hubby and I were out earlier looking for shapes in the clouds. And this is what we saw. Yes there are elephants in Hatfield, Arkansas.

Say a prayer for Pickle, Penny, I hear her home has some damage.

Stay safe as we are under tornado watch till 4 am

No-reply blogger

Well our friend Richard at Richard and Tanya Quilts informed me that I was set as a no-reply blogger. He has helped me figure it out and I think I have that fixed. I have taken the google+ linking off and I think that will fix it. I hope so anyway.  I was afraid you other ladies who contribute would be running into the same thing.  And I didn't want to cause y'all any grief .  You all want to be able to enter giveaways with no problems.  Right.   ;-)

I apologize if this has been an issue for y'all.  Maybe we are fixed.   You know the newest thing isn't always the best.

Thanks Richard.....

We had many beautiful quilts shown last night.  I got a few pictures, but it seems I have filled my phone.lol. I have to move them to the computer so I can fill it up again..  Here are the ones I could get pictures of.

This is Barbara's crazy nine patch from retreat.

Susan made a crazy nine patch without smashing in blues and brown sit was beautiful. I didn't get a picture. :-(

This one is Sharon's Roll Roll Cotton Bowl a Bonnie Hunter mystery.  I love this border.

This one is Linda's. It was given to her by family and is hand stitched. It will set 9 x 11. Linda only needs to make 2 four patch blocks to have them complete and be able to start sewing it together.  Isn't it beautiful.

I look forward to our next retreat in September. Hopefully I will have my Merry Go Round finished and something new in progress...

I can't believe it is practically June.  I need to get some tops quilted......I will never make my goal of a quilt for my family members for Christmas at this rate.   I'm just half way thru them.  And they are mostly from scraps.  Trying real hard not to buy fabric.  ;-)

Back To Square One

I have May's clue done in my Back To Square One Mystery Medallion quilt. I had some trouble with these square-in-a-square blocks because I obviously cut my last squares a tad too big. So I scrapped them and started over. I really like how they look. Just don't look too close! I don't do perfect. Never have and never will. I try, and I seem to get better all the time but I am still not there.

Miniature Wholecloth Cross Quilt

I finished Misty's miniature wholecloth cross quilt in time to take it to the retreat for show & tell.  It looks almost square in the pic but it's actually 10" X 12" overall.

And I finally finished my project from a previous retreat.  Serendipity. This is the small one and the large was finished too.

I was so busy admiring the projects I forgot to take many pictures.  Shame on me I know.  But Miss Peggy was always with camera in hand so I will try to get them from her and post.

And if any others of you snapped so e photos please add them.

I want to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to Louise and Peggy for everything you do to put together our retreats. We only see a portion of how much work, time, and love you put into them.  THANK YOU..THANK YOU..THANK YOU

Next retreat in September.....I can't wait.  Maybe I can get my merry go round completed..hahahahahahaha   I can dream.lol

Happy stitching....

Just 3 more days

Can you believe it is just three more days to Retreat!  I can't.

I did finally start getting things together last night.  Yes I know I am procrastinating but I just can't decide what to work on.  I am taking my unfinished MerryGoRound to finish, I have two make that three more to put borders on so those are going, but what to "start on"?     I haven't figured out "who" is next.  I need fabric to complete Brothers Choice. I think I will take my bag of leaders and enders and start putting them together to see just how many I have.  These will need lots of trimming as my mother-in-love cut them hoping she could see to piece them, well she has macular degeneration and there is nothing straight or the same size on these, but I am going to use them anyway.  Maybe a quilt for dad he is always cold and it is worse since his accident.

Well unfortunately I have to go to work which means I gotta get moving.   The shower is calling my name....  Shower is fine work not so much..lol

Remember it is quilting night...see ya there.

ROW QUILT - IN PROGRESS

I'm having a lot of fun with this row quilt - So glad Sharon got us started on this.  I changed blocks for a couple of rows and I'm about to run out of background fabric - that's when I'll really have to get creative to figure out how to finish this using whatever fabric I have on hand (hopefully).  My resolution to use us some of my stash has been working pretty good so far this year.  So far I think my favorite row has been the houses.  The six rows in the pic have not been sewn together yet.   And the houses don't even have the sashing and end pieces.   I'll add these to the 4 completed rows later on.  I substituted chicken hens for the mittens and hearts for the leaves.

I've finished the quilting on my miniature whole cloth "cross" quilt that I'm making for my daughter.  Now I'm in the process of doing the trapunto work using the needle and yarn technique.  I sure hope it looks good when it's finished.   I'll try to take a photo then - rather hard for me to photograph white on white!

This time next week our spring retreat will be history.  And I'm already planning for fall!

I'm stuck!

Do you ever get stuck and not know hat you want to work on.  Well that's where I am..stuck.

I try not to have too many projects going at once (my brain cant handle that much..lol) and I usually do not start a new quilt until I have a person in mind to give it to.  I am attempting to make a quilt for my family this year. I have a couple that just need the borders completed but I'm having trouble deciding who is next and what quilt pattern to make for them.   And this makes it hard to get busy on the ones I have to finish.

Maybe I will get an idea and something will inspire me.

Happy Mother's Day, ladies.  Have a blessed day.

Here are Greg M., Allison and lil Ava

We enjoyed going to hear Allison and Greg sing. Ava was such the entertainer. She danced for everyone and when people applauded for Alli and Greg, Ava would bow.. So cute.

It was good to get to meet Allison's boyfriend Jason's parents. Dorothy is a quilter too but we didn't get to visit about quilting as we were in a restaurant/bar to hear the kids sing.

We also got to see our boy Danny and his buddies.

And we got to see our girl Michele. She took our picture..

It has been a lazy day for me. I have had a headache and a sore neck all day. I did manage to cook lunch do laundry and scrub my bathroom. Had to get the hairspray off the floor... The drawback to using "got to be glued" spray.

Hopefully I can get some sewing done tomorrow.

Have a blessed day.

Not a lot of sewing happening here

Last night we made a three hour drive south to watch our daughter-in-love, Casey, graduate with a degree in Early Childhood Education.... We had 17 in the crowd to help her and our son, Andrew, celebrate. My hubby thankfully did all the driving and let me snooze on the way home.

We have a busy day ahead of us as well. Our daughter, Allison and her singing mate Greg, have a gig tonight and that too is a three hour drive north east this time. But we will get to see our other kids, Michele and Danny too. And of course Allison's boyfriend, Jason and possibly lil Ava.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have a little time to get my sewing room in order and get started on a few new projects. I've still got a lot of tops to get made and ready for Christmas gifts. I also have to get all my stuff gathered and cut and ready for QUILT RETREAT....only 13 more days...

Goodness I'm so far behind. It has been months since I've been in the sewing room to sew.

I will be glad when my father-in-love is healthy and back going. He is finally home from the hospital but he has a very long way to go. He can at least get to the bathroom with a walker now.

Just a tip.......do not fight with trees. They win...lol

Have a great day. God bless.

Back to Square One: Step 4

I am posting this again so that I can see if I can link it. Angela gave me some pointers and I will attempt it.
